  5.     --------
  6.     
  7.     DIRTREE  is  a  Windows  3.x(tm)  compatible  program  that graphically
  8.     displays the directory structure of a selected disk. 
  9.     
  10.     The program displays, in tree format, all the directories  on  a  given
  11.     drive (up to the limit of 1000 directories for the un-registered copies
  12.     of  DIRTREE,  or  the  limit  established by the Limits menu option for
  13.     registered copies of the program) and permits the user to print out the
  14.     tree to a graphics printer (if using a  dot  matrix  printer,  plan  on
  15.     waiting a while). 
  16.     
  17.     The  tree  structure can be saved to a default file in the drive's root
  18.     directory, so that subsequent activation of the  DIRTREE  program  will
  19.     not have to scan the disk.  If you have a TV.DIR file in your root when
  20.     installing  this  version of DIRTREE, you MUST delete it before running
  21.     DIRTREE as it may be an early version which cannot be read by the later
  22.     versions.  Any newer versions you add later do not  have  this  problem
  23.     and  it  is  not necessary to delete TV.DIR, although it is safer to do
  24.     so.

  26.     The disk can be re-read at any time and a new version  of  the  default
  27.     file can be saved if desired. 
  28.     
  29.     An  extensive  help file provides users with instructions on the use of
  30.     the various commands and sub-commands available within DIRTREE.

  32.     Future enhancements
  33.     -------------------
  34.     
  35.     Some planned future enhancements to the program are: 
  36.       1. The ability to point and click on a directory, causing the default
  37.          directory to become the  selected directory and  a list  box to be
  38.          displayed showing the files contained in the selected directory.
  39.     
  40.     Other enhancements might be provided as a  result  of  suggestions  and
  41.     recommendations  from  users  of the program, espcially those that have
  42.     registered DIRTREE.  Feedback IS important.

  44.     Version information

  46.     
  47.     This version (01.20) includes a change to the  File|Print  menu  option
  48.     which  launches printing of the tree structure without the print dialog
  49.     box being presented.   The  printer  setup  dialog  box  can  still  be
  50.     accessed throught the File|Print Setup option.

  53.     ------------

  55.     The program may be registered directly with CSS at the address shown at
  56.     the  end  of  this  file.  A convenient registration form, which can be
  57.     output to a line printer, is provided in the program's  help  file  for
  58.     direct registration with CSS.

  60.     Installation
  61.     ------------
  62.     
  63.     Create  a  directory on the target disk for the program (recommended is
  64.     \DIRTREE).  UNZIP the files contained  in  DIRTRE.ZIP  (or  DT0120.ZIP)
  65.     using PKUNZIP (version 2.04g or later) into a directory of your choice.

  67.     Install the program in an existing Windows(tm) group of your choice, or
  68.     create a DIRTREE group for the purpose.

  113.     Non-registered users of this product are granted a limited  license  to
  114.     use  the  product  for  a  thirty-day  trial  period for the purpose of
  115.     determining whether it is suitable for their needs.  The continued  use
  116.     of this product beyond this period, requires a registered license.

  120.     Use  of  this  software  product  constitutes  your  acceptance of this
  121.     agreement and subjects you to it's contents.

  178.     enclosed herein to be free of defects in materials and workmanship  for
  179.     a  period  of sixty days from the delivery date of said materials.  The
  180.     delivery date shall be the date the articles are shipped  from  CSS  as
  181.     noted  in  on  the  last  page  of  this  agreement..   If CSS receives
  182.     notification within the warranty  period  of  defect  in  materials  or
  183.     workmanship,  and such notification is determined by CSS to be correct,
  184.     CSS will replace the defective diskette(s) or documentation. 
  185.     
  186.          DO NOT RETURN ANY PRODUCT  UNTIL  YOU  HAVE  CALLED  CSS  AND
  187.          OBTAINED A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. 
  188.          
  189.     The  entire  and  exclusive  liability  and  remedy  for breach of this
  190.     Limited  Warranty  shall  be  limited  to  replacement   of   defective
  191.     diskette(s)  or  documentation  and  shall not include or extend to any
  192.     claim for or right to recover any  other  damages,  including  but  not
  193.     limited  to,  loss of profit, data, or use of the software, or special,
  194.     incidental, or consequential damages or other similar claims,  even  if
  195.     CSS  has  been specifically advised of the possibility of such damages.
  196.     In no event will CSS's liability for any damages to you  or  any  other
  197.     person  ever  exceed  the  lower  of the suggested list price or actual
  198.     price paid for the license to use the software, and or the actual price
  199.     paid for the media, regardless of any form of the claim.

  201.          CUSTOM SOFTWARE  SERVICE  SPECIFICALLY  DISCLAIMS  ALL  OTHER
  202.          WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
  203.          ANY  IMPLIED  WARRANTY  OF  MERCHANTABILITY  OR FITNESS FOR A
  204.          PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

  206.     Specifically, CSS makes no representation or warranty that the software
  207.     is  fit  for  any  particular  purpose  and  any  implied  warranty  of
  208.     merchantability  is  limited  to  the sixty-day duration of the Limited
  209.     Warranty covering the physical diskette(s) and  physical  documentation
  210.     only (and not the software) and is otherwise expressly and specifically
  211.     disclaimed.

  213.     This  limited  warranty  gives  you specific legal rights; you may have
  214.     others which may vary from state to state.  Some states  do  not  allow
  215.     the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, or the limitation
  216.     on  how  long  an  implied warranty lasts, so some of the above may not
  217.     apply to you. 
  218.     
  219.                      GOVERNING LAW AND GENERAL PROVISIONS
  220.                      ------------------------------------
  221.     This license statement shall be construed, interpreted and governed  by
  222.     the  laws of the State of Texas.  If any provision of this statement is
  223.     found void or unenforceable, it will not affect  the  validity  of  the
  224.     balance  of  this  statement,  which shall remain valid and enforceable
  225.     according to its terms.  If any remedy provided is determined  to  have
  226.     failed  of  its  essential  purpose,  all  limitations of liability and
  227.     exclusions of damages set forth in the Limited Warranty shall remain in
  228.     full force and effect.  This statement may only be modified in  writing
  229.     signed  by  you  and an authorized officer of CSS.  Use, duplication or
  230.     disclosure by  the  U.S.   Government  of  the  computer  software  and
  231.     documentation in this package shall be subject to the restricted rights
  232.     applicable  to  commercial computer software (under DFARS 52.227-7013).
  233.     All rights not specifically granted in this statement are  reserved  by
  234.     CSS.

  236.                                  DEFINITIONS

  238.     License   An  official  document  granting permission to  engage  in  a 
  239.               specified activity which would be an illegal  activity  where 
  240.               no license has been issued.
