- Synopsis
- --------
-
- DIRTREE is a Windows 3.x(tm) compatible program that graphically
- displays the directory structure of a selected disk.
-
- The program displays, in tree format, all the directories on a given
- drive (up to the limit of 1000 directories for the un-registered copies
- of DIRTREE, or the limit established by the Limits menu option for
- registered copies of the program) and permits the user to print out the
- tree to a graphics printer (if using a dot matrix printer, plan on
- waiting a while).
-
- The tree structure can be saved to a default file in the drive's root
- directory, so that subsequent activation of the DIRTREE program will
- not have to scan the disk. If you have a TV.DIR file in your root when
- installing this version of DIRTREE, you MUST delete it before running
- DIRTREE as it may be an early version which cannot be read by the later
- versions. Any newer versions you add later do not have this problem
- and it is not necessary to delete TV.DIR, although it is safer to do
- so.
-
- The disk can be re-read at any time and a new version of the default
- file can be saved if desired.
-
- An extensive help file provides users with instructions on the use of
- the various commands and sub-commands available within DIRTREE.
-
- Future enhancements
- -------------------
-
- Some planned future enhancements to the program are:
- 1. The ability to point and click on a directory, causing the default
- directory to become the selected directory and a list box to be
- displayed showing the files contained in the selected directory.
-
- Other enhancements might be provided as a result of suggestions and
- recommendations from users of the program, espcially those that have
- registered DIRTREE. Feedback IS important.
-
- Version information
- -------------------
-
- This version (01.20) includes a change to the File|Print menu option
- which launches printing of the tree structure without the print dialog
- box being presented. The printer setup dialog box can still be
- accessed throught the File|Print Setup option.
-
- Registration
- ------------
-
- The program may be registered directly with CSS at the address shown at
- the end of this file. A convenient registration form, which can be
- output to a line printer, is provided in the program's help file for
- direct registration with CSS.
-
- Installation
- ------------
-
- Create a directory on the target disk for the program (recommended is
- \DIRTREE). UNZIP the files contained in DIRTRE.ZIP (or DT0120.ZIP)
- using PKUNZIP (version 2.04g or later) into a directory of your choice.
-
- Install the program in an existing Windows(tm) group of your choice, or
- create a DIRTREE group for the purpose.
-
- Zip contents
- ------------
-
- The files included in the installation zip (09/12/93 07:00:00) are:
-
- README.COM 09/12/93 07:00:00 (This readme file)
- DIRTREE.EXE 09/12/93 07:00:00
- DIRTREE.HLP 09/12/93 07:00:00
- BWCC.DLL 06/10/92 03:10:00

- CSS products available on CompuServe can be found by searching on the
- keyword CSS. These products, also available from CSS, are:
-
- DISKMAN - (DSKMAN.ZIP) A disk/file manager for Windows(tm).
- WINTZ - (WINTZ .ZIP) A world time zone display for Windows(tm).

- TZxxxx.ZIP, DTxxxx.ZIP, DCxxxx.ZIP and GPxxxx.ZIP respectively.
-
- The x's are numbers 0-9 representing the version. The larger the
- number, the later the version. This program, for example, is
